Heartbreaker…

What if he said that he loved you…
After all’s been said and done…

What if he uttered those three words…
And confessed you were the one…

Admitted it’s never been over…
That he’s still utterly obsessed…

Craving to be with you each moment…
But his feelings have to be repressed…

As no one can know the truth…
So he buries them deep down inside…

And the moment he pushed you away…
The truth is, he simply just lied…

Because you’re the one in his dreams…
It’s your face when he closes his eyes…

He fell on the day that he met you…
Each day since he’s had to disguise…

The connection that exists between you…
Unspoken memories you’ve amassed…

Wrapped up in small talk conversation…
Never talking about what has past…

Those sweet stolen moments of sin…
The lies that became secret memoirs…

That somehow still burn so brightly…
In-between the battle lines and scars…

Thoughts he pretends to have forgotten…
In a form of twisted self-preservation…

Carrying on with his day to day life…
Without thought or any hesitation…

Yet wondering what might have been…
If the midnight stars had aligned…

If the planets had somehow collided…
Allowing hearts to become entwined…

Instead the potent spell was broken…
Leaving moments of bitter regret…

Within a lingering mist of maybes…
But a commitment to never forget…

And what if he said he remembered…
Every second of the whole affair…

Would the gravity of that confession…
Reveal the truth or just simply a dare…

Lost…

braid_hourglass_1024-300x300

~

She searches the darkness…
For some kind of sign…

Looking for something…
To forgive all her crimes…

Always missing the point…
And still crossing the line…

Never really expressing…
What’s hidden deep inside…

Or ever letting them see…
The times she has cried…

The mistakes she’s made…
All the times she’s lied…

And one of these days…
She may well understand…

As the minutes pass by…
And the hourglasses sand…

Slowly ebbs away…
Merging into years…

Stealing her youth…
And increasing her fears…

As she loses her sanity…
Strand by fucking strand…

Always yearning to leave…
That no man’s land…

A life that’s in limbo…
With no light at the end…

Never trusting any other…
No one to call a friend…

Walking in circles…
And living in shadows…

Stood on the edges…
Where no one else goes…

And no one else sees…
Or really takes the time…

To scratch the surface…
So she tells them she’s FINE…

But the truth is hidden…
And always kept that way…

Because the simple fact is…
She’s not really OK…

Letting go…

~

You need to step away…
Need your head to clear…

Because slowly, very slowly…
She’s beginning to appear…

In your thoughts and dreams…
She’s in your head at night…

No matter what you do…
No matter how hard you fight…

It began as a distant echo…
Blurred memories of the past…

But now she is so vivid…
You can’t allow this to last…

As it took so long to escape…
The path you chose was tough…

And whilst you’ll always crave her…
Enough was just enough…

Yet now you dwell on fantasy…
Focused solely on the fiction…

Remembering the good times…
But discarding all the friction…

The pain that she caused you…
The thousand times she lied…

How she got inside your head…
And made a poor boy cry…

Yet still you refused to hate her…
No matter what she said…

As you battled inner demons…
And wished she was in your bed…

Because despite best intentions…
You fell deeper every single day…

The spell she cast felt real…
Your heart was swept away…

And now those feelings return…
Even though it’s been so long…

That chemistry between you…
Suddenly feels so strong…

But giving you a wakeup call…
Loud alarm bells in your head…

You must find a way to end this…
And stop further tears being shed…

He walked up the steps…
And stumbled inside…

Into the room at the top…
Where the memory resides…

Of his pure innocence…
Cruelly ripped away…

On a dark summer night…
After a long hot day…

It’d started so brightly…
Filled with endless love…

No hint of the evil…
Descending from above…

In that room as he slept…
And was quietly woken…

Subjected to such horrors…
That left him just broken…

Unable to speak…
And unable to smile…

It scarred him forever…
His soul in exile…

Never spoken about since…
Kept in secret & silence…

In fear that speaking out…
May lead to violence…

So it was locked away…
In a box labelled shame…

Forgetting the horror…
Never speaking its name…

Moving on with his life…
Smoothing out its creases…

Trying to live with it…
And pick up the pieces…

But now he is back…
After all those years…

Stood in that room…
Holding back the tears…

With a knife in his hand…
It’s time to submit…

Switch off his pain…
And finally end it…

He found her ribbon…
Tied to the tree…

And felt the pain…
Felt so damn guilty…

Recognising the sign…
He knew she was lost…

And he’d paid the price…
The ultimate cost…

As he’d hear her words…
But never listened…

Missing the warnings…
As the sunlight glistened…

Those empty threats…
And hollow words…

Became background noise…
Just like the birds…

Who woke him daily…
From his deep sleep…

He dismissed her voice…
As talk is cheap…

Always threatening…
But never doing…

It became a bore…
She was always rueing…

How bad her life was…
How she couldn’t cope…

The world was against her…
She was running out of hope…

She was drained of her energy…
Always down and depressed…

And he stopped listening…
Her claims were dismissed…

But she dug so deep…
And found some courage…

Left behind her pain…
Floated from the wreckage…

And she tied a ribbon…
Tight to the tree…

For him to find…
For him to finally see…

girl

~

The same old faces…
In the same old town…

So many memories…
Bringing her down…

Stuck in a world…
That doesn’t understand…

Where nothing really works…
Or ever goes to plan…

Where feeling pain…
Has become the norm…

And every sunset…
Unleashes the storm…

The battle that rages…
Inside her numb head…

The whispering voices…
The cruel words said…

Suggesting it’s time…
She’d be better off…

If she just disconnected…
And simply switched off…

Her life support system…
The air she’s breathing…

Submit to her death…
And enjoy the feeling…

That would come…
With the ultimate freedom…

And turn her back…
Just simply leave them…

All the same faces…
Those bitter memories…

And so called friends…
Who act like enemies…

As they stole her past…
And haunt her present…

She’s in need of a future…
Where she doesn’t resent…

All that is past…
All that has been…

As with one small action…
She could be set free…

Dark eyes…
Upon stormy seas…

Under moonlit skies…
Filled with mystery…

As the wind chimes…
Whispering intrigue…

She seductively swims…
Out of his league…

And out of the reach…
Of desperate hands…

Never ever stroking…
Her golden hair strands…

And never ever kissing…
Her Ice cold lips…

The perfect shape…
The Queen Bee bitch…

This Aphrodite…
Of psychological power…

He’s silently besotted…
A fanatical follower…

Who would risk it all…
For just one kiss…

And open his heart…
Rather than miss…

The opportunity…
When it finally comes…

To join together…
And to be as one…

In a fleeting moment…
A passionate embrace…

The sinful pathway…
Leading to his disgrace…

And will leave him reeling…
Heartbroken and torn…

A shipwrecked mess…
With all dignity shorn…

Yet constantly thinking…
Of that one sweet time…

And haunt his mind forever…
Reminding of his crime…
