Unforgiven…

tree-birds

~

The little bird glides…
Upon broken wings…

Burdened by pain…
And unable to sing…

Not able to focus…
On the world around…

Her ears are deaf…
Can’t hear a sound…

Consumed by the black…
That covers her eyes…

Distorts all her senses…
She’s blind as she flies…

Into the huge storm…
That rages ahead…

Battling her demons…
Who want her dead…

Struggling to find…
A sanctuary shelter…

A safe place to land…
Someone to help her…

To tend her wounds…
See her though the night…

Ease all her worries…
Listen to her plight…

Someone she can trust…
With her inner fears…

Hold her so very tight…
And dry all her tears…

Instead she is left…
So cold and alone…

Far far away from…
Where she called home…

And the one she left…
Who broke her heart…

Leaving her needing…
To make a fresh start…

Where she can begin…
To rebuild and live…

As she’ll never go back…
And she’ll never forgive…

Switching it all off…
Trying to zone out…

My head’s full of trouble…
My mind’s full of doubt…

In need of something…
To remove this pain…

Release the burden…
And ease the strain…

As I’m falling deeper…
And sinking so fast…

You promised to help…
But your promises don’t last…

You walked away…
Not feeling a thing…

On the cliff edge…
You left me hanging…

Ignoring my words…
And numb to it all…

Your callous heart…
Doesn’t care if I fall…

As your ears don’t listen…
Your eyes don’t see…

You were never focused…
On my desperate plea…

We were friends forever…
Until it got rough…

A fair-weather friend…
Once it got tough…

You followed the path…
Of least resistance…

Only caring about…
Your own fucking existence…

Leaving me drowning…
In this pool of self-pity…

Cold and all alone…
In such a heartless city…

Searching for something…
To take my pain away…

And wondering if these pills…
Will be the easy pathway…

Life’s just too short…

To play this game…

Each time I do…

I’m burnt by the flame…

So take your foot…

From off my head…

Allow me to breathe…

And live my life instead…

Of waiting for you…

To give me a sign…

Or show to me…

That you could be mine…

I just can’t keep waiting…

For you to play fair…

Or give me a hint…

That you actually care…

It’s such hard work…

Consumes all my time…

Thinking about you…

Is that such a crime…

Even if that is bad…

I’ll tell you what’s worse…

You infecting me with…

This impossible curse…

A never ending vision…

Cemented into my mind…

Just one perfect moment…

Frozen in space and time…

You knew I’d want more…

Of that there’s no doubt…

So come and find me…

Quietly, no need to shout…

Just come and hold me…

And give me your tongue…

Because this battle has ended…

The war has long been won…

You don’t need to say it…

A simple kiss will do…

So stop playing games…

And let me inside you…

He found her ribbon…
Tied to the tree…

And felt the pain…
Felt so damn guilty…

Recognising the sign…
He knew she was lost…

And he’d paid the price…
The ultimate cost…

As he’d hear her words…
But never listened…

Missing the warnings…
As the sunlight glistened…

Those empty threats…
And hollow words…

Became background noise…
Just like the birds…

Who woke him daily…
From his deep sleep…

He dismissed her voice…
As talk is cheap…

Always threatening…
But never doing…

It became a bore…
She was always rueing…

How bad her life was…
How she couldn’t cope…

The world was against her…
She was running out of hope…

She was drained of her energy…
Always down and depressed…

And he stopped listening…
Her claims were dismissed…

But she dug so deep…
And found some courage…

Left behind her pain…
Floated from the wreckage…

And she tied a ribbon…
Tight to the tree…

For him to find…
For him to finally see…

Confession of a Guilty Heart

You didn’t have to understand

All I wanted was, for you to feel

If only you reached for my hand

Then my heart full of love could have been real

But, it was my fault

I didn’t love you a lot

It was my duty, and

All I thought of, was me

Your world was full of difficulty

Neither did I understand, nor did I see

I was blinded by my arrogance

For which I missed all my chance

I made you miserable, I made you cry

Making you think my love was a lie

Wish I had done things differently, then

We could have spent these 3 years gracefully

Now the chance is gone, and

I am all alone

But, I am happy to see you happy

As that’s all I ever wanted you to be

So, I am writing this, just to let you know

This is where I let you go

Summer Haze

You’re a summer haze,
A breeze I would always chase.
A touch of what I couldn’t grasp,
A dream I’d sleep for every night.
You were there, I could almost feel you.
Or was it an illusion, my own kind of truth?
Tauntingly, you offered a hand to me,
And I, like a helpless child, reached out for thee.
The tip of our fingers touched in a flash,
And there, that connection was ours.
I almost painted a hue of bliss,
A tinge of hope, and a touch of faith.
Yet my knees hurt, my eyes burned
Until the ground where I stand pulled me down the earth.
Until the hope became despair.
And bliss turned into misery.
Until all my fingers bleed,
Collecting pieces of our bittersweet memory.
You stayed up there, eyes wide open.
And I was stuck here, eyes closed and broken.
You seemed so near, yet proved to be far,
And faith vanished, overruled by scars…
