“Going underground”…

Searching for love,
deep underground…

Where nobody speaks,
or makes a sound…

Just looking for signs,
across the way…

Or body language,
with something to say…

Showing some interest,
perhaps just a smile…

And capture a glimpse,
that lasts for a while…

Creating a memory and
filling the hole…

That exists within,
each poor tortured soul…

Who dare not speak,
or express their desire…

Meaning most flirtations,
will always misfire…

And end in moments,
of pitiful regret…

The day their challenge,
refused to be met…

And the courage needed,
just to say hello…

Was found wanting,
by the reluctant hero…

Walking away with,
the spirit of the stairs…

Wondering what could have been,
had it been more than stares…

Before the next journey and
a new smiling face…

Could this be the moment,
they win Cupid’s race…

As they search for love,
deep underground…

Where nobody speaks,
or makes a sound…

“Only know you love her, when you let her go”…

Todays words, picture and song choice come from my wonderful guest writer Sal…

~

“Let her go”

He had known for a while
Known there was something wrong
Known she was changing
Before his very eyes
He had watched her
As she began to wilt
Her light began to fade

Gone was the happy spirit
He had fallen in love with
Now she was just a shadow
Of her former self
A ghost
That walked amongst
The living

He had taken her away
To his house in the county
Hoping she would
Once again find herself
But she continued
To disappear
Before his eyes

Now he stood watching her
As the thunder rolled
Watched her as she began
To dance to nature’s wild concerto
Seeing the light
In her eyes
Begin to reignite

He knew then
Knew he couldn’t tame her spirit
Couldn’t continue to cage her
Knew he had to open the doors
And set her free
Walking out into the rain
He stopped her dance

In her hand he placed the key
To the collar she wore
Caressing her cheek as he whispered
“It’s time to let you go
My little bird
Go fly free
Be the woman you are meant to be”

Her tears joined the rain
As she kissed his lips
One final time
She didn’t argue
Didn’t fight
She knew herself that the time
Was right

He watched as she turned
And walked away
All around the storm did rage
Falling to his knees
As a torrent of emotion and pain
Escaped from his body
The pain he felt would always be there

But he knew he loved her enough

To let her go…

“One lights up every time we feel love in our hearts”…

In the midst of a cold Black daze…
Searching for her White knight…
In the glare of a summer haze…
Stood under dazzling bright lights…

She just can’t understand…
And could never comprehend…
She wanted to hold his hand…
Not play “Let’s pretend”

She wanted to be together…
And not so far away…
Wanted to hold him forever…
Not only for one day…

Like a totally insane addiction…
He was her drug of choice…
She loved him with conviction…
Now she yearns to hear his voice…

And melt into his eyes…
As he sweeps her hair away…
To remove her last disguise…
And hold her forever and a day…

But it will never happen…
As the light has simply faded…
His passing was so sudden…
Left her so angry and so jaded…

Now he’s just a memory…
His number was up too soon…
Walking through the park, he didn’t see…
The attackers in the light of the moon…

He tried his best to fight them…
But they were four to just his one…
He didn’t have a chance to defend…
His last breath robbed, now gone…

It was such a savage beating…
And the killers remain on the run…
As she gazes out of the window searching…
For the warmth of his loving Sun…

But now her days are Black and cold…
There is no longer a White knight…
As she struggles to keep control…
The fuckers turned out her only light…

“Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane, ain’t got time to take a fast train”…

plane crash independence day

~

They never saw it coming…

At Thirty Five thousand feet…

Jet powered engines humming…

All with connections to meet…

Reclining in the cabin…

Reading books or playing games…

Some listening to music…

Another trip just the same…

Some sleeping like babies…

Some chattering incessantly…

As the cabin crew served drinks…

It all would end prematurely…

When the turbulence first hit…

No one battered an eyelid…

But as the shock waves grew stronger…

The panic was no longer hid…

Like a fairground rollercoaster…

The plane bounced around the sky…

Buckling under the pressure…

Flying into the great storm’s eye…

The captain lit the seat belt sign…

The religious quietly spoke psalms…

As the laughing turned to screaming…

The cabin crew begged for calm…

With nobody to help them…

The plane dropped from altitude…

And was flung around like a child’s toy…

As nature’s forces raged and grew…

The pressures ebbed and flowed…

And the plane began to pitch and creak…

And in one single moment…

The air pressure began to leak…

The storm was unforgiving…

And the captain lost all control…

The damage became substantial…

And the plane tail spun and rolled…

Like a kite without the wind…

It spiralled towards the ground…

And when the fireball exploded…

No survivors would be found…

They never saw it coming…

At Thirty Five thousand feet…

Now desperate souls are rising…

With spiritual connections to meet…

Rules-of-Attraction-Suicide

~

She’s lying in the bath tub…
Warm water surrounds…
Candle light and bubbles…
A dripping tap, the only sound…
She reaches out so gently…
Picks up the razor blade…
Drags the edge across her wrists…
And leans back feeling no pain…

The blood pumps quickly from her…
Into this sad suicidal pool…
Turns the water a shade of Red…
It all seemed so very cruel…
His words that hit the target…
Called her weak and deranged…
Now she’s going to show him…
As her life force slowly drains…

Drifting in and out of consciousness…
Her senses are feeling numb…
And angels begin to gather round…
To make her soul feel welcome…
Her mind begins to play tricks…
Flashbacks from her history…
Not much older than Twenty Six…
It’s not been the happiest story…

Raped when she was a teenager…
Abused when she was a child…
She thought this love was different…
He was so tender, so meek and so mild…
But he quickly let the mask slip…
Was no better than the rest…
A typical man in so many ways…
Only out for what he could get….

It took some time to see through him…
She let him inside and so deep…
Gave herself to him freely…
This was the one she could keep…
But life is not a fairy tale…
And this world lacks many shining lights…
The man she believed was her soul mate…
Was not her much dreamed of White Knight…

But it was simply too much for her…
She tried, but couldn’t go on…
What was the point of life’s misery…
They wouldn’t even miss her once gone…
Now she lay dead in the bath tomb…
The water was cold and blood Red…
Her soul danced around flickering candles…
As this beauty was released from her head….
