Retrospective…

My eyes can see clearly now…
Through the pain we amassed…

To understand it for what it was…
Enough time has now passed…

And penetrate those defences…
The walls that we both built…

Constructed with our anger…
As we allowed our love to wilt…

A love that was once so beautiful…
But became toxic and decayed…

And the cast iron trust we held…
Gave way to feelings so betrayed…

Whilst in the heat of the moment…
Those vicious words wounded…

Becoming arrows of destruction…
Before we both finally concluded…

The only way to move forward…
Was six degrees of separation…

Some space and time to think…
Without any fear of vilification…

But now I’m able to look back…
Even though it’s all very raw…

And see we never stood a chance…
In that cold degenerating war…

As those cracks are now so vivid…
I see where it began to fall apart…

Yet we never saw it coming…
As we fumbled along in the dark…

Living in a disconnected world…
Dominated by our selfish actions…

Never seeing the bigger picture…
And burdened by slow reactions…

Which allowed those demons in…
Those sinful thoughts to grow…

So when our greatest test came…
Those weaknesses were shown…

And I can see it clearly now…
But at the time I was consumed…

Eyes filled with rage and jealousy…
That destroyed and left us doomed…

fight

If blood is showering out of your veins,
If the lesions & wounds are giving you pain
And even if circumstances are showing your death,
In spite of that, fight till your last breath.

No matter If you are sailing on a tidal ocean,
No matter If conditions prevailing give you tension
And even if there is no time left for you to regret,
In spite of that, fight till your last breath.

What happen if night always comes before the morning,
What happens if every second intensity of darkness is increasing
And even If, darkness is giving brightness a terrible threat,
In spite of that, fight till your last breath.

What happens if you feel yourself alone on this land,
What happens, if your shadow remains your only friend
And even If, you are deprived of love from anybody as yet,
In spite of that, fight till your last breath.

It is blissful, if you come out as victorious in the end,
But if all your efforts & attempts go into the sand
Then you need not to strike your head with a stone,
Because fighting till last breath is a victory on its own.

My Kingdom…

This is a very dark place…
A place he knows so well…

A place that feels like home…
A space that feels like Hell…

Emotions are hard to articulate…
So he bottles them up inside…

And fights the constant battle…
As tears well up in his eyes…

Always looking for signs of hope…
Some light through those cracks…

But all he sees are the demons…
Who surround and then attack…

Wounding him with vicious words…
Tearing at his tattered, fragile soul…

Always knowing just what to say…
In order to assume full control…

Which makes it hard to function…
Out in the cruel, cold world…

Amid the weight of expectation…
Where a hand of darkness is curled…

Keeping such a very tight grip…
Limiting his thoughts and actions…

Making it hard to breathe some days…
Numbing his senses and reactions…

But those who live around him…
Are unaware of his perpetual war…

Though this fight goes on every day…
They see only what they think they saw…

As the dark and violent struggle…
Is not for their eyes to see…

So he’s perfected the art of deception…
To ensure it remains a mystery…

Spending a lot of time looking…
Like a man who needs no help…

Trying to make it through each day…
Playing the hand that was dealt…

Surviving in a very dark place…
A place he now knows so well…

A place that he calls his home…
And a kingdom that feels like Hell…

walking

Like an old friend, you find your way back
The rain kisses my face
A scorned lover, an unfortunate foe

My heart skips a beat
I cannot find my breath
Fear overtakes my soul, I’m lost here

The depths of this terror find me
They swallow me as though I were small
Broken, I cave to your oppression

Thunder roars inside of my ears
Screaming as the demons sweep through my mind
I can’t see

They have their way with me
Having left, I sit within my own ashes
I can only wait for them to return

I wallow in my sorrow
I plead for a Saviour
I’ve seen him before, but I cannot feel him now

Darkness pervades my sight
My heartbeat slows, my breathing lessens
In the midst of my death, a light shines

Down In Flames…

You vindictive, spiteful bitch…
Using every word you say…

To manipulate situations…
And always get your way…

Thinking you’re so clever…
You’re above everybody else…

And he can’t see through you…
Through all your pitiful pretence…

That you’re a pathetic little girl…
Requiring his constant attention…

You use him just to validate you…
And in every sentence to mention…

Whilst putting your name in lights…
Like you’re some big Hollywood star…

Receiving his praise and platitudes…
About how truly wonderful you are…

As you need this just to function…
To go about your pitiful soulless life…

It gives you a sense of purpose…
So you use your tongue as a knife…

Living by one rule for you…
Cutting out one for the others…

Making them up as you go along…
But when it suits you smother…

Any thought of his rebellion…
Or desire for his freedom of choice…

You act like his puppet master…
Controlling him with your voice…

Hypnotising his utter compliance…
Making him hang on every word…

Careful to make so damn sure…
That only your needs are served…

And like a poisonous little snake…
Your grip on him is tightly curled…

Keeping him locked in the shadows…
Taking centre stage of his world…

But you’re not fooling anyone…
With the way you play mind games…

One day your spell will be broken…
And he’ll watch you go down in flames…

I remember you
as I scrub the coffee stains
from the floor, listening
to some vivid, faraway
morning happiness captured
by that ritual in your voice.

It’s not coffee unless it spills.

I remember you in a periphery
of cream-lined Pacific tides
with their sharp, lyrical roar

like memories that brew
with profane, glittering
emptiness, as stars shed
tears across an array
of fractioned, forlorn
linoleum seconds, aching
for the dreamlike embrace
of just your folded arms.

I remember you
as I polish the ground
of an entire swirling globe.
