~
My jealousy seeps…
Through each open pour…
Knowing she’s with you…
Knowing that she saw…
Every inch of your body…
Knows the way that you taste…
The pleasure she gives you…
Is etched on your face…
And she knows that feeling…
Of having you on her arm…
Like a queen beside you…
Held under your charm…
But yet you’re not happy…
Things aren’t going so well…
This new life you’ve created…
Wasn’t worth all the hell…
The war that you waged…
Those battles we fought…
And the escape to freedom…
You so desperately sought…
Craving your independence…
Wanting to be all alone…
Needing your space…
Our relationship outgrown…
It was never your fault…
Always twisted around…
And your finger of blame…
Made a deafening sound…
Making it so clear…
That you wanted out…
Despite all the protests…
My pleas, my shouts…
And now you sit there…
Lamenting your new life…
It isn’t much better…
You didn’t find paradise…
Yet my jealousy rages…
My anger burns so bright…
But I still can’t hate you…
Just want to hold you so tight…

It moved me. It’s so beautiful. The words hit you softly and you just let them seep deep inside you peacefully.

Very poignantly said. You do a great job showing how destroying a relationship doesn’t give you freedom. Just the loss of a relationship.
Thanks Claire – a universal truth and theme I think! Cheers J
