She scrapes the eroding inside

of all the splintered fences

building a helpless tasteless frame.

Her lips define the weight

of something I used to know.

I don’t know why the acrimony

of begrudging accents escape

these sculpted crust-lined borders

where words seem to lack

the pleasantries they once held.

There’s no advantage in this sadness…

only the blurred burning immersing

wave of liquor that resonates with

resentful histories of coiled conceptions.

The spots weigh and sway sadly

in decayed poise along a colored

dripping disposition that never seems

to find a safe harbor. You never

hold my hand the way I hope I fall.
