Love has been something that came so easily, for me to do;
However, something that I have found being returned, by so very few.
It at times seems to be a game that requires many risks…that requires leaps and bounds;
Leaving so many echoes in my heart, which are sad, sweet, and profound.
I, at times, wander around, looking, feeling, and seeking…..
For someone wanting of the love that I possess, that is from my heart…leaking.
The moments that I invest with my body, soul, and mind;
Seem to always be reciprocated with acts and emotions that are so unkind.
Though bruised and beaten, my heart refuses to get jaded or frozen;
Despite all of the loss, it strives on to find the one that was of it, chosen.
I admit, each time, there is a wall that needs to be broken through;
This wall so easily comes down, never thick…easy to win over on cue.
Being like a game of tug-o-war in life;
Causing so much happiness….yet so much strife…
Love is such a powerful force;
Causing more good than bad…when focused, it is always a straight course.
So I ‘keep the faith’, with each day that goes by;
Playing the game, over and over, and soar like a dove so high…
Getting closer and closer with each time;
Surviving moments that are tortuous, yet more sublime.
love is easy – if you’re stupid and don’t mind a hand-grenade to the face every now and then – but i digress
You can say that again… 🙂
great poem and thank you for the reminder, Amy is one of the best artistes we’ll ever have.
R.I.P dear Amy
Thank you! And honestly, I have come to understand when studying her life…that there was more that meets the eye! She had a lot more to give as a contribution to the music world.
and therein lies the tragedy…but we are grateful all the same to have been in the presence of such great talent, sometimes that’s all the silver lining you get.
Reblogged this on William Chasterson.
