“Without doubt, it is true, she was the only love you knew”…

It’s really you
The long lost one…

Who left me standing…
Slowly coming undone…

And falling apart
Body, mind and soul…

Sat in a dark corner
Losing all control…

Becoming numb
To the world around…

Not able to function
Or articulate a sound…

Lost in the darkness
A depressive whirlpool…

That sucked me under
Like a love-struck fool…

Who couldn’t see a way
To get back on track

Unable to function
In a world of Black…

Down a rabbit hole
With no sign of Alice

Just dark thoughts
Of death and malice…

And there you are
Now stood before me…

Without a care
For my painful story…

Barely recognising
My haunted face

And as for love
There is no trace…

As you left me battered…
Bruised and bloodied

Incapable of feeling
Love for anybody…

You broke my heart…
My spirit and my soul…

Without a care
For what you stole…

Fuck you…

  1. What a beautiful poem, heart felt and raw. The song is perfect with this as well. If ever you feel like venting, really venting, Rootless Tree by Damien Rice is a song I listen to …it is the refrain that is powerful…you’ll see when you hear it. Btw, thanks so much for visiting my blog at Stop the Stigma.

  2. Have so missed your poems, J…it is just because of the power and ability you have to touch that raw nerve that we had to take a break..our apologies…so glad to be back…this is as always, amazing.
So love a fuck you..even when it hurts. Cheers, all of us
