~
Looking over his shoulder…
To see if she’s there…
The one he was kind to…
Whilst being unaware…
Of the feelings created…
Deep within her mind…
The beast he had stirred…
That was hidden behind…
Words of friendship…
And seemingly harmless fun…
But as things progressed…
He realised what he’d done…
By then it was too late…
There was no way to stop…
The fates conspiring…
As he forced her tears to drop…
With a humble explanation…
That outlined the mistake…
But his words were futile…
And contact he had to break…
To escape her madness…
Go back to real life…
To his family and friends…
And his oblivious wife…
But as days became weeks…
She refused to let go…
He belonged to her…
She’d let the world know…
Promises, lies and threats…
She stalked his every move…
Around every street corner…
Her love she tried to prove…
She begged and she pleaded…
Before she finally snapped…
Followed him home one night…
And violently attacked…
Thrusting the knife deep…
Into his vulnerable heart…
Forcing him to his knees…
And his soul to depart…
Releasing her puppet…
But she just didn’t care…
Calmly walking off…
Into the cold night air…
