“I wish your hand, was in mine right now”…

She comes to him at night…

And whispers in his ear…

This woman of his dreams…

He holds her close, so near…

Wraps himself around her…

And sinks into her arms…

She’s always very gentle…

Makes him feel so calm…

The only one he cares for…

It feels so deep and real…

Would do anything for her…

The moon and stars he’d steal…

She alone makes him happy…

Content when she’s around…

Parted, he becomes anxious…

And his smile becomes a frown…

She was the one with him…

The night fate took a hand…

His only secret distraction…

No one else would understand…

But it’s not as it may seem…

She’s just a vivid illusion…

She lives only in his mind…

Causing him such confusion…

As she infects his reality…

He wishes she was real…

Someone he could talk to…

Kiss and touch and feel…

She’s a fragment of a memory…

A girl he met on life’s highway…

And only in a parallel universe…

Could it be any other way…

He assembled all her best bits…

And left the rest behind…

Now this haunting vision…

Is the world’s beauty combined…

The warm rain in the summer…

The first apple on the tree…

An Eight wonder of the world…

So utterly enchanting is she…

She comes to him at night…

Sexually charges the atmosphere…

The perfect fucking fantasy…

So bright and so damn clear…

  1. It always starts out so lovely, so peaceful – so full of hope. And then the dark and twisted strikes again. The hard feelings and painful reality sets in and dreams get shattered. You keep amazing me, J. Every. Single. Time. I still try to find the ‘happy’ in your poems, while I damn right now it will be dark and twisted again. And I just love it! Captures me every time. Don’t ever stop writing and sharing!
