Hands tied and bound…
Tight behind his back…
He never saw it coming…
Such a stealthy attack…
They came out of nowhere…
Taking him by surprise…
Now they simply stand there…
Accusing him of lies…
He’s tied on to a post…
Built upon branches from trees…
And the scent filling his nose…
Is petroleum on the breeze…
Coming under interrogation…
In this kangaroo court…
There is no judge or jury…
There’ll be no afterthought…
Each refusal to answer…
Brings the ending nearer…
He’s trying to be strong…
Yet inside he’s full of fear…
As the baying pack mentality…
Want his blood to be spilled…
And a swift conclusion…
That will see him killed…
Sending out a message…
To their perceived enemies…
That they are in charge…
In order that nobody sees…
Any chink of weakness…
Within their armoury…
Because swift retribution…
Is what this will be…
But he stands strong…
In the face of their hatred…
Knowing that his life…
Will soon be terminated…
And his soul will ascend…
Wearing a fallen heroes crown…
As the strike of just one match…
Begins the final countdown…

Wow! This is so good, J! Love the vivid description of the last moments of his life! Amazingly done! 🙂
Thank you – if I told you the inspiration for this, you would laugh… Cheers J
Now I want to know! Email it to me if you don’t want to share it here on WP ^^
Haha – nothing that bad – when I was around 10 or 11, I had a toy action man (google Eagle Eyes) and we would play army in the woods with the other kids – mine got burnt and melted whilst tied to a garden cane under interrigation – was a memory that was brought back recently – funny eh! Cheers J
Haha wow. Such strange things can trigger inspiration for poetry. Love it ^^
Sunt pe-aici, nu v-am uitat,
Pe suflet v-am sărutat
Somn ușor, stimați amici
Și mai mari dar și mai mici,
Somn ușor, din partea mea!
I’m on here, I have not forgotten,
On soul I kissed
Sleep well, dear friends
And higher and lower
Sleep well, my part!
Thank you for your beautiful words Lleana – your photos were slowing the site, so I had to remove them – thank you none the less – Cheers J
If his soul could transcend, then how would he have been a fallen hero, I wonder? 🙂
Depends… by using poetic licence I can accend or trancend who I want 😉 I wonder – what is your interprtiation of the poem overall – who is he? What is happening? Is he the man they wanted? Why do they want him? What has he done? Was he wrong place wrong time? Or did they ge the ringleader? Curious to your thoughts? Cheers J
I listen to this song all the time;)
You can’t beat a bit of JBJ from time to time! Thanks for stopping by to comment – Cheers J
