~
The little bird sits,
in the eye of the storm…
On a darkened rooftop,
all tattered and torn…
Her feathers all ruffled,
hiding new scars…
She’s looking for refuge,
under falling stars…
Searching for calm and
any kind of sanctuary…
Somewhere to hide,
until she can be free…
And it is all over,
when she will again fly…
In-between the sunset and
the dark moonlit sky…
But until that time,
the angry storm rages…
And each painful day,
writes new chapters and pages…
Of a complicated story,
where this little bird got lost…
Before finding herself,
without realising the cost…
As in a circle with three sides,
she got caught in-between…
And only pure sinners,
could feel what she’s seen…
As dodging the lightning,
became her awakening…
And a thirst for excitement,
became so very frightening…
Forcing a conclusion and
igniting Hell’s fire…
Which seeks out the truth,
as the flames reach higher…
Now sat on that rooftop,
it feels so out of control…
And the little bird attempts,
to reclaim her soul…

Clever title.
All my titles are a line or lyric of the song soundtrack – so I guess Bono and U2 get the real credit here! Cheers J
