Holding on to that moment…
Where everything was so calm…
Floating on the ocean breeze…
Far away from any harm…
Chasing double rainbows…
And searching for Mermaids…
Hoping they drag him under…
Seducing him under the waves…
Where demons cannot find him…
And his tormentors have no power…
Where dark spells are impotent…
Even in the midnight hour…
And his soul can be healed…
Given some time and space…
To be able to forgive himself…
Instead of languishing in disgrace…
At all the thoughts and deeds…
That weigh heavy on his mind…
From the insanity of distraction…
To words spoken, so very unkind…
Removing all the dark images…
That constantly flood his head…
And just for one single moment…
Be able to forgive and to forget…
But Mermaids cannot save him…
The Mermaids don’t fucking exist…
They don’t appear in reality…
Unlike the painful scar on his wrist…
As the power of his demons…
Are too much to overcome…
When even in that calm moment…
He fears that the Devil has won…
As itβs too late to find redemption…
And too late to turn back now…
Because even if he wanted to…
He simply wouldnβt know how…
But sealed inside that moment…
Itβs so peaceful and so calm…
Where reality is so far away…
And he’s protected from any harm…

It started out so sweet and nicely but then reality kicked in and it became cruel and painful again… Nevertheless a beautiful and powerful poem! Well done, J! π
