“There’s a madness in his eyes today”…

eyes

~

They talk…
They stalk…

They haunt…
They’re nonchalant…

They’re blunt…
They hunt…

Like a pack…
And they attack…

His mind…
A constant grind…
With truth they blind…

The man that began…
Who became a walking sham…

Places he’s been…
Things he’s seen…

The things he’s done…
Whilst coming undone…
And it’s just begun…
The jury is hung…
As the web is spun…

And the decision is made…
As light begins to fade…

On his time on Earth…
To prove his worth…

Redeeming his sins…
Before the Devil wins…
And the decent begins…

As it’s time to give up…
It’s time to let go…
Of the dirty past
Move from its shadow…

And into the sun…
Walk into the light…
Cast off the black…
And embrace the white…

But he’s not sure how…
Or where to begin…
It’s been so long now…
Since being able to grin…

Or able to dance…
And feel so free…
Allow the beat and the rhythm…
To be his freedom key…

From the cell that constrains…
And locks him in chains…
Paralyses his brain…

His mind and his thoughts…
Filled with remorse…

But no regrets…
Strange, but not yet…

And he can’t even recall…
Surviving the great fall…
Yet here he now crawls…

On his knees…
Will they hear his pleas…

Or is it too late…
On the wrong side of the gate…
As they make him wait…

And infect his head…
Punishment from the dead…
As his sanity hangs by a thread…

Mentally tired…
So uninspired…

As the demons corrupt…
And the Devil disrupts…
He’s so very fucked up…

  1. “It’s time to let go the dirty past” I liked this part of your poem. It’s sharp and strong. Like your genre ans style.
