He lives in a world…
Of his own creation…
So brave and so fearless…
And without hesitation…
Walking tall and proud…
Just embracing life…
Growing stronger each day…
Never thinking twice…
Viewing everything…
Through different eyes…
Young, pure and innocent…
Not tainted by lies…
Living in a bubble…
Of total protection…
Each day an education…
And full of reflection…
Where the stresses and strains…
Of this cruel Earth…
Have remained out of sight…
Since his day of birth…

~
He never ever worries…
About what is to come…
Living life in the moment…
Basking in the warm sun…
Whilst laughing and joking…
Ignoring all the rules…
But knowing right from wrong…
And not suffering fools…
Never surrendering…
To any negative thoughts…
Or seeing the bigger picture…
Of what lies before…
The mistakes he will make…
When following the crowd…
And when circumstances…
Don’t make him proud…
But he will live his life…
And do it his own way…
Filling me with pride…
Each and every day…

J, wonderful words, beautiful poem! (Justin Currie always great!)
Take care,
Pepper
Thanks Pepper – wanted to use this song for ages – thought of different approaches but ended up trying to contrast the two worlds – the carfree and innocent vs. Curries amazing yet cynical view on life – Cheers J
J, thanks for your addition insight, confirming my thoughts. I think your approached worked quite well. At first I struggled to make a connection, then realized that was your possible intent, no connection only contradiction! This is most certainly a striking difference between your poem, which is so beautiful (as you mention the “carefree and innocent”), as opposed to Currie’s scathing lyrics, and his commentary on people and society in general. (I wonder if we are not all tempted and eventually somehow tainted by our need to survive, forcing us to compromise ourselves and give in on some level.)
Take care,
Pepper
Thanks Pepper – you are correct and you’re up next! Cheers J

Thank you – Cheers J
You’d better be careful, you’re letting optimism show. Thanks for the good start to my day.
Thanks Keith – I will be sure not to let it happen again 😀- Cheers J
