“I hope she was, dreaming of glory”…

floating

~

Always the bridesmaid,
but never the bride…

She witnessed life,
stood at the side…

Never upfront or,
centre of attention…

She lived her life,
in a permanent detention…

Never ever finding,
her place in this life…

Every day a battle,
filled with such strife…

That distorted her mind,
infected a madness…

Amidst the lonely depression,
in a deep dark sadness…

Just one more setback,
was all that it took…

To others it was nothing,
for her, a right hook…

That landed square,
knocked her off her feet…

It was the last straw and
she admitted defeat…

Closing her eyes and
turning her back…

As the world around her,
faded into Black…

And the silence she craved,
filled her ears…

Whilst all her hurt,
became the falling tears…

Of those who gathered,
to say their goodbyes…

Who could never comprehend,
or understand why…

She was always the bridesmaid,
but never the bride…

As they only witnessed her life,
from the outside…
