Lost within his life’s direction…
He took the wrong train connection…
His destination is unknown…
His eyes survey the gathered crowd…
A quiet coach, no noise allowed…
He sees her sat alone…
Keeping her eyes on the book…
He was bewitched by just one look…
She’s chilled to the bone…
She doesn’t even know his name…
His evil crimes or hidden shame…
Or the heart that’s made of stone…
He’s craving her undivided attention…
She’s floating in an air of tension…
Into confusion she is thrown…
Trying to avoid his charming stare…
It could be fun, if she’d only dare…
Common sense on hold…
A spark of innocent conversation…
Invites her to think thoughts of temptation…
Her confidence has grown…
She begins gently flirting with her hair…
In his trap, shes now been snared…
She plays with her phone…
Fallen for his devilish smile…
His journey becoming more worthwhile…
But time has now flown…
He leans in for a stolen kiss…
Her company he’ll never miss…
She’s lost in his twilight zone…
She never felt the sharpened blade…
With her life, she’s sadly paid…
His hand stifles her moan…
Quietly slumped in her bloody chair…
No one around noticed or even cares…
He plants a kiss on her cheekbone…
Another added to his list…
A serial killer in our midst…
The man who angels disown…

This poem is so scary that I was afraid to hit the Follow button. It is well-written. I like your style of poetry. Plus, I love the Door and “Riders On The Storm.” It takes a lot of courage and insight to reflect the serial killer in your poem. I almost feel compelled to respond as the victim. It did give me an idea, though. Stay tuned. Thanks for following my blog. I look forward to seeing more of your poetry.
Thanks Tricia – humbled to have inspired you! A lot of my work is on the dark side – infact all of it is – I like to expore, distort and twist – hope you find more of my rambles of interest and look forward to reading your words! Cheers J
Since Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite authors, I am certain that I will feel right at home with your dark side.
Cheers!
You will find Poe references around here too – love his work! Cheers J
