“This disguise fooling no one”…

His words were dressed up
in eloquent clothes…
Infecting her ears,
sending the scent of
lust up her nose…

In a moment of weakness…
In the midst of the bleakness…

Cursing her thoughts,
cursing her mind…
Seeking her out and trying
to find…

A way to get through…
With words that felt true…

That clawed at her soul…
Got into the space,
in behind the hole…

That had formed in her heart…
Leaving her torn apart…

Looking to win her back…
Begging forgiveness,
for his attack…

And the hurt…
As she wore his shirt…
Whilst covered in forbidden dirt…

And pleaded his case…
Real pain on his face…
Yet only fear awaits…

Would she listen…
As her tears glisten…

And roll down her cheek…
Feeling low, feeling weak…

In the cold sunlight…
Where she can
no longer fight…
Or watch him run into
the night…

Destroying their destiny…
Diverting fate and all it can be…
Where no one can see…

Or understand a word…
Lips move, but never heard…
It’s fucking absurd…

So like a free running horse…
He tries to change her course…

With words dressed in a suit…
With a jacket, tie and boots…
Hoping to bear fruit…
No longer looking for
an escape route…

Trying to tell her this…
That he misses her kiss…

And her touch…
So very much…

But they fall on deaf ears…
Or so it appears…

Like the moment has gone…
She’s begun to move on…
Perhaps hearing someone
else’s words, someone else’s song…
Her heart broken and cold,
but strong…

She can still hear him…
As the light that once glowed,
becomes dim…

But he’s an echo of a memory…
That was once, but will never again be…

Like the faded rainbow…
That gazed upon the world below…
Before becoming shrouded in
the clouds shadow…

Leaving him broken…
From the spell, awoken…
Returning his words,
to once again being
unspoken…

It always ends this way…
No matter what they say…
But at the end of the day…

It remains…
On his soul, a stain…
A memory within his brain…
And on his lips, a taste of pure
Champagne…

  1. Is he deserving to have this life?
    A life without a wife?
    Maybe yes, maybe not.
May in hell, he will rot! LOL

Harsh eh, Jamie? 😀 Nice write again!
