Travelling home to see them…
She was away too long at school…
The motorway is dark and empty…
But she needs to stop for fuel…
The service station lights flicker…
Like in some old horror movie…
Her heart starts beating faster…
She’s sure something’s moving…
Saw it in the corner of her eye…
As the wind starts to howl…
And as the fear begins to rise…
She hears the witch’s owl…
It’s so cold and it’s so eerie…
As the rain is lashing down…
Her legs begin to feel heavy…
This queen has lost her crown…
Her fragile confidence is shot…
And her world begins to spin…
What the fuck just happened…
Did something break her skin…
She turns but sees nobody…
Yet her stomach feels so sick…
As her eyes fill with water…
Her head feels like it’s been hit…
She vomits as she is falling…
Down to the cold wet ground…
Drifting out of consciousness…
She vaguely hears a sound…
Her vision is warped and blurred…
But thinks she sees someone…
Reaching out her shaking hand…
For help where there is none…
Quietly stood above her smugly…
Knows she can’t put up a fight…
He picks up her slender body…
His eyes filled with sheer delight…
He takes her to his vehicle…
Gently lays her in the back…
Ties and binds her body…
Before covering her with a sack…
Drives away from the scene…
As if nothing had occurred…
He knows what fate awaits her…
To death she’s being chauffeured…
She was travelling home to see them…
She’d been away so very long…
Never again will she see her family…
And in Heaven she’ll soon belong…
