“Streets are uneven, when you’re down”…

~

Sometimes she feels so adrift…

And cut off from all reality…

Some days the pieces just don’t fit…

Her mind won’t let her be…

It makes every day such a battle…

Each journey a hill to climb…

And every time she sees the finish…

She’s cut down in her prime…

There are times the lights are stuck…

Never changing from Red to Green…

It claims another slice of her soul…

Makes her feel so fucking mean…

It makes her feel so angry…

So frustrated deep down inside…

Sometimes she wants to scream and shout…

Other times she just wants to die…

Her mind is numb and aching…

Most days it feels so Black…

Ashamed of the woman she’s become…

Fearful of each daily setback…

She’s scrambling in the darkness…

Can’t seem find the light…

Appearing to have lost her spark…

With no energy to put up a fight…

They say that she’s depressed…

Try filling her up with words and pills…

But will she feel it any less…

If they remove what’s left of life’s thrills…

It never used to be like this…

She once was so carefree…

Can’t understand where she went wrong…

Or why she feels so fucking unhappy…

Sometimes she feels so alone…

But the end is now in sight…

When the time comes she’ll be ready…

To escape this place and take flight…

  1. Your post is moving. I hope you find the source of your discomfort and find a way to overcome. Life can be good. Don’t give up! A friend once reminded me, “Sooner or later the pendulum starts swinging the other way!”
